For the month of October it is Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne and the city is a buzz. Its all about fashion, visitors, events and having a good time!

Emirates Stakes Day better known as 'Family Day' is the one day that not only the adults get fashion savy; its fashion for the whole family.  Fashion On The Field on Stakes Day run categories for both boys and girls aging from 6 years to 17 years plus a family category. This year I was asked to be a guest judge for the  Senior Girls finals and the competition had us judges on the end of our seat. The competition was high with may outfits on point and coordinated perfectly from head to toe.

Not only was I excited to be a guest judge but I was looking forward to outfitting my girls for our family race day out.

To start I had purchased a lace skirt and matching top for myself and this became the key element to our styling for the day. I think it's important to picture how you all will look in photographs. To have you all  blending looks much more appealing than all outfits clashing.  I started my search for dresses for the girls and even though I came across so many gorgeous designs there wasn't one that I felt would fit what I envisaged until  these cute lace short sets from NEXTcrossed my path.

They were perfect! The lace was perfect and I loved the colour being solid. Being short sets it was something different too for little girls and I knew the girls would be comfortable all day. For the girls head wear I had already been introduced to Gold Frankinsence + Myrrhin July. As soon as I set my eyes on the lace hat Bella wore I knew that I had to have it. I knew Bella would rock the lace jockey hat and Gigi would be super pretty in the floral headband. My look that I had pictured was falling into place.

Lastly the girls shoes which fortunate they had in their wardrobe  from Myer.  To complete my outfit I opted for a blue headpiece to tie  in with the girls which I found at Myer and sitting beside it was a multi coloured clutch which bought all our outfits together. Lastly I needed comfy shoes so pumps it was from Nine West. Mission complete. I was so happy with what I pictured in my mind came together so well. Everyone was comfortable and happy.

We spent the day with our friends ( fellow boys blogger) Carla of Styling The Tribeher husband David plus their three gorgeous boys Tevita, Maikeli and Tomasi (pictured above) with an enjoyable time in the Birdcage enclosure visiting some of the awesome marquees. To find out more on what Carla's best dressed boys are wearing head over to her blog for her complete coverage of the day.
